Healthy and wholesome dish made from palak , rice and moong dal . Tastes amazingly delicious and ful filling as a lunch / dinner
Rinse rice and lentils and drain the water
Plug in TTK Prestige IOT smart cooker and turn power on . Add washed rice , moong dal , haldi , 3-4cups water and tsp salt . Mix every thing well , bring to boil.Cook for 15 -20 mins.
Meanwhile in a blender puree Palak , coriander leaves , green chilli and ginger garlic paste. Grind smooth ,keep aside .
Check if rice and lentil is cooked well . Once cooed soft , mash them gently .
To a kadai / pan , oil and ghee . Once it's hot add whole spices like bay leaf , cardamom , cinnamon and cloves. Let it splutter
Add finely chopped Onion , sauté 1-2 mins .Let they get translucent .
Add tomato and sauté 1-2 mins .
Add salt to taste , dhania powder , jeera powder and Garam masala powder . Saute for a minute.
Add mashed rice and lentil mixture . Combine everything well .
Add water to adjust consistency . simmer and Bring to boil .
Lastly prepare a tempering . Heat ghee . Add jeera , finely chopped garlic and saute golden . Let it get crisp . Add hing and red chilli.
Pour the tempering on the palak khichdi .
Palak khichdi is ready to serve .Enjoy hot
