South Indian special.Tur dhal is used for lunch sambhar to eat with rice.For tiffin sambhar either moong dhall or combination of moong and tur dhall is used


Wash and Soak dhall for 20 minutes,cut vegetables inti 2 " long pieces,soak tamarind in hot water squeeze well,filter extract and set aside Then cook dhall adding enough water with asafoetida for 4 to 5 whistles in prestige pressure cooker,set aside.In a seperate pan or you can wash the cooker,use it.Heat oil add one by one in same order( but allow adequate time for each ingredient to cook)mustard,then Fenugreek,shallots fry,add vegetables,tomato,sambhar powder, turmeric powder, tamarind extract,cooked dhall,salt,coriander leaves and cook for 3- 4 whitsles.
Serve with rice,ghee and appalam or kootu
